A weekend in London

Introduction:     Have you ever been to London? This time you are going to visit London through the internet. In pairs you are going to book the flight and the hotel, find out where you can eat or what you can do in London. With the information you find, you will have to make an ORAL PRESENTATION using a GLOGSTER, explaining your trip from the very beginning! Your budget is 1200 euros (remember they have pounds), so don't waste it!! Have fun!!!

Task:     You will have to make a GLOGSTER (http://edu.glogster.com/) and an oral presentation describing all the information there. In that glogster, you will post the whole planning of your trip (screenshots of your flight, the hotel chosen, the restaurants or takeaway wher eyou will eat, places to visit, ticket prices, itinerary...). Remember that you work and travel in pairs, so you will have to find everything for two people.

Process:     Follow the steps below: 1. Find a partner you get on well with. Remember you have to spend two days with him/her. 2. Plan the dates for the flight and the hotel, the type of accomodation you would like, the budget you have (do you prefer to spend the money on the room, museums or food?), the places you would like to visit .... 3. Go to "Resources" in order to find useful links. You are also allowed to use a search machine, but you will only use English!! 4. Gather the information and pictures/videos... given on the websites and save them. You have to use your own words for the descriptions. So, do not copy every word from the internet! 5. Make the glogster. 6. Present it in front of the class.

Evaluation:     You will be graded on the following: Working in pairs 15% Glogster 25% Oral presentation 25% English 35%

Conclusion:     You have learnt that you can become your own travel agency, and that there are a lot of different things to do and see in London. Perhaps you can do your training course in some place in the UK, and it has shown you how easy it is to plan everything before you go!

And now my fantastic students prepared a funny second part... Congrats! You are great!

New Year Resolutions

Sure you have a long list of things you would like to do in 2016, like for example...
1. Get fit
2. Eat healthy food
3. Spend more time with your family
3. LEARN ENGLISH

Well, if you want to stick to these New Year resolutions, just some advice:

Be REALISTIC when listing them and consider FAILURE as a good opportunity to learn. Don't give up the first time things go wrong...
